FRIDAY, December 11, 2009 MEETING NOTES Volume 44, Issue 11

We had 20 Optimists today. Kendra Feuling was off to the side studying. The Mystery Greeter was Dave Jones who greeted Diane Van Natta. John Dutcher, Tom Nall, Holly Cook, Gary Engelke, Charlie Clark and Hap Daus wore their Optimist shirts today.

Today’s Speaker - None

This week we talked about some business and President Tom Nall asked that all Optimists bring a family Christmas Photo to the upcoming meeting on Dec 18th.

Holly Cook said that she has some Books for Babies for sale for $5 in case there are any parents or grandparents who want to give something.

BADGER CAMP

From all indications, the Badger Camp Telethon made just a little less than in 2008, but still a good total. We received a plaque for our support. Thank you to all who worked the phones. We had a few get their mug shots in the Platteville Journal!

KATHY MURPHY

Kathy Murphy, wife of member Tim, will be having surgery this week. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

PLATTEVILLE AREA CLUB

The Platteville Area (Noon) Club is starting its own fundraisers. They are wrapping Christmas presents for donations. Monday Dec 14, Wednesday Dec 16 and Saturday Dec 19 they will be at 100 E. Main St in conjunction with the Main St Program. They will split donations with Main St.

On Mon - Wed Dec 21 - 23, they will be at K-Mart doing gift wrapping with all the donations going to the Club for Youth Expenses. They intend to donate to the Holiday Project. If you can help, please stop by.

QUIZNOS

The new owner of Quiznos here in town (Gov Jerry Schewe) has designated Wednesday Dec 23 as the day when they will donate $1 from each sandwich purchased to the Optimists if people will ask that it be done. Please tell all your friends to stop by, support a new business and donate to the Optimists at the same time!
