FRIDAY, November 27, 2009 MEETING NOTES Volume 44, Issue 9

We had 9 Die Hard Optimists today. Joy Schewe from the Fennimore club was our guest. The Mystery Greeter was Milt Rewey who greeted Diane Van Natta. Howard Crofoot, Charlie Clark, Joy and Jerry Schewe wore their Optimist shirts today.

Today’s Speaker - Optimist Fellowship

The "gang of nine" swapped stories and had a wonderful time. Due to a scheduling mixup, Tom could not be here and the Joker Draw stuff was not here. The group present voted to hold a special Joker Draw before the regular Joker Draw next week.
John Dutcher, Joy Schewe, Jerry Schewe purchased one ticket each, Howard Crofoot and Milt Rewey bought 2 tickets each.

Arnie Roper, Diane Van Natta and Charlie Clark each bought 6 tickets. John Urness collected the money already, so we committed to the Joker Draw.

Jerry talked about the Feb 6 SWIS District Conference in Whitewater. He noted that those who will attend Friday night are invited to a dinner reception at Kathy Schumacher’s house. Jerry said there will be a Super Bowl theme to the weekend and the speaker will be a surprise.

(He hasn’t gotten anyone committed to speak yet.) He also said that this coming Tuesday night they will reinstate the Cottage Grove club at the Monona State Bank. Platteville Area will no longer be the youngest club.

Jerry also invited the Optimists to a special preview/Open House at Quiznos on Thursday Dec 10th.
